6. 23/10/2014 Diwali Festival Mrs. Jayshree Bhatia An evening full of fun and entertainment was planned. Stand up comedian Jagdish Trivedi was invited all the way from India alongside live orchestra, variety of food stalls and a special corner to keep children entertained, were some of the attractions. The venue was the Karimjee Gardens but due to unpredicted fireworks program & permission by other organization, the scale of the event was reduced to just an entertainment program of Jagdish Trivedi at Shree Sanatan Dharma Sabha. The crowd was nevertheless pulled by the comedian and all enjoyed the Diwali evening.
         
5. 07/10/2014 Sharad Utsav Mrs. Jayshree Bhatia An Indian Orchestra played traditional Raas-Garba tunes from evening till midnight. Many Hindus participated and attended this annual event which was held at the Diamond Jubilee Complex. The event climaxed with the last round of Bhangra-Remix. The turnout was low compared with last year because we had to choose a week day due to unavailability of Hall.
         
4. 25/09-02 /10/2014 Navratri Security & Traffic Arrangement Suraksha Tz This was planned by Suraksha volunteers for ensuring safety and security of our fellow brothers & sisters during Navratri festival. As usual, the Commanders worked closely with Ultimate Security & Tz Police Force and a Traffic flow system was placed to ensure smooth movement of cars and safety of pedestrians. Various dark areas were illuminated but this year a few makeshift billboards were put up with lightings which served both for advertisement and illumination. The event ended with no report of incidence.
         
3. 15/06/2014 Lecture: Cancer Awareness Mr Vijay Somani This was planned by Suraksha volunteers for ensuring safety and security of our fellow brothers & sisters during Navratri festival. As usual, the Commanders worked closely with Ultimate Security & Tz Police Force and a Traffic flow system was placed to ensure smooth movement of cars and safety of pedestrians. Various dark areas were illuminated but this year a few makeshift billboards were put up with lightings which served both for advertisement and illumination. The event ended with no report of incidence.
         
2. 14/06/2014 Religion Quiz Competition Mrs. Jayshree Bhatia A very exciting program was organised for Hindu students and participation was in a group of 2 from each members organization. Winning teams were awarded certificates and gifts which was held at The ITCC - Shishukunj Hall.
         
1. 04/01/2014 Lecture: Hindus Across The Globe Mrs. Jayshree Bhatia A dedicated HSS Member Saumitra Gokhale from US visited Dar Es Salaam and a lecture was held at Patel Brotherhood Conference Room. The lecture gave glimpse of Hinduism in the current era.

16. 20-22/12/2013 Swami Vivekananda Poster Exhibition Vijay Somani The event was a held at Shishukunj Hall in collaboration with the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh - Kenya to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a dynamic Hindu saint whose message of divinity of individual soul and universal brotherhood is as relevant today as it was during his time.
 
15. 03/11/2013 Diwali Festival Suraksha Tz Another undertaking by Suraksha Tz which would have witnessed even a larger congregation of Hindus but due to circumstances beyond our control, the event was called of at the last hour.
 
14. 18/10/2013 Sharad Utsav Mrs. Jayshreeben Bhatia A mega event hosted at The Diamond Jubilee Complex with around 2500 Hindus congregated to mark the festival. The event was graced by H.E. Mayor of Ilala Municipal Council Dr. Jerry Silaa. The festival comprised of live Rass-Garba (Indian Folk Dances) marking the unity and solidarity of Hindus in Tanzania. The event also showcased Indian art & craft exhibitions, folk dance competitions, Indian cuisine and boutique stalls.
 
13. 05-12 /10/2013 Navratri Security & Traffic Arrangement Suraksha Tz The Hindu Council of Tanzania felt obliged as to safety and security of our fellow brothers & sisters during Navratri festival and for the first time this project was taken up with cooperation from its fellow members. Various premises in Kisutu area as well as Upanga were enhanced with security with the help of Tz Police Force, Ultimate Security and our in house volunteers of Suraksha Tz. A Traffic flow system was arranged to ensure smooth movement of cars and safety of pedestrians. Various dark areas were illuminated and fortunately the event ended with no report of incidence.
 
12. 15-31/07/2013 Volleyball Tournament 2013 Mr. Babulal Chudasama Within a short time, this event was successfully organized by Vice Chairman Babulal Chudasama. 13 volleyball teams from our Hindu Communities in Dar participated in this 2 weeks' program. Various donors and sponsors facilitated this tournament, of course with the help of Hanuman Vyayamshala, Hindu Union & Young Friends Teams. This event also gave an opportunity to all youths who volunteered to join Hindu Emergency Response Team - Suraksha Tanzania.
 
11. 1-2/06/2013 Public Health Seminar Mr. Vijay Somani Care Institute of Medical Science (Ahmedabad, India) conducted Public Seminars in Mwanza, Zanzibar & Dar Es Salaam. A team of specialists from the hospital delivered tips for health living and gave experts opinion to those who sought.
 
10. 29/03 to 01/04/2013 AK Sports Bonanza Mr. Babulal Chudasama HCT Member Organizations participated in this event organised by the Aga Khan Council which took off with great zeal but was shortlived due to the collapse of the 16 storey building which killed many children and people. All the Communities were thus engaged in the rescue efforts and providing humanitarian relief.
 
9. 08/03/2013 International Women's Day Mrs. Bindiya Sidpara This event was marked with various activities including Indian traditional dances, food stalls and a couple of inspiring speeches from prominent women. A musical orchestra, Rising Stars colored the event with beats of Raas-Garba which all enjoyed playing till midnight.
 
8. 06/02/2013 Law Day Celebrations Mr. Mitesh Valambhia Our Priests, Tushar Vyas from Tz. Swaminarayan Mandir and Parag Bhatt from Laxminarayan Mandir were invited to this event by the High Court of Tanzania. The Priests blew the ‘shankh’ (conch shell) before reciting the prayers in Sanskrit followed by its translation in English before closing it with ‘Amen’ which was loudly echoed back from the dignitaries and guests. It was truly a prestigious moment for the Hindu Council Of Tanzania to be considered and invited by the Government to this National Event.
 
7. 15/07/2012 Fund Raising Charity Walk Mr. Vijay Somani In order to accumulate a sustainable Education Fund to perpetually support most eligible Hindu students to go through Primary, Secondary or even furthers. HCT has organized this Charity Walk. Starting and finishing points shall be Indo Tanzania Cultural Center (Shishukunj). This is one of the projects in the series to acquire the needed funds to be used available within next 3-5years time.
 
6. 28/06/2012 Labour Seminar Mr. Hitesh Divecha This Seminar is specially designed for Hindus in order to familiarize with Tanzanian Labour Laws for business and domestic employees. Professionals in this field will be hired to educate Hindus and also provide guidance on how to build good employer-employee relations.
 
5. 05/05/2012 Bollywood Bonanza Mr. Babulal Chudasama This event brought together youths and children from various communities on a common platform. Communities include: Shree Gurjar Suthar Gnati Mandal, Shishukunj - indo Tanzania Cultural Centre, Patel Brotherhood (Patel Samaj), Shree Hindu Mahila Mandal, Shree Rajput Dhobi Gnati Mandal, Shree Koli Divecha Samaj, Shree Sorathia Prajapati Gnati Mandal, Shree Jain Sangh, Shree Bhatia Mahajan. This event was the first fund raising project for HCT and a handsome donation was received from sponsors and sale of tickets.
 
4. 25-26/02/2012 Satsang Shibir – Hindu Lifestyle Seminar Mr. Mitesh Valambhia This Joint Venture program was organized by HCT in collaboration with Tanzania Swaminarayan Mandir at the Whitesands Hotel on the subject “Hindu Festivals” Around 31 children of age 14 and above participated in this 2 days event. The speakers were invited from the US accompanied by Santo from Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul-Kandari.
 
3. 9/10/2011 Health & Education Initiative [Pictures] Mr. Vijay Somani Dr Kaushik Ramaiya (Chief Medical Officer of Shree Hindu Mandal Hospital) Mr S D Ramji (Headmaster of Shaaban Robert Secondary School) and Mr B K Tanna (Director of Tanna Sreekumar Ltd) volunteered to contribute in the forum held at the Shishukunj Hall which was attended by all HCT members. Various issues were discussed and suggestions/views were taken to improve health and education services in Tanzania for Hindus.
 
2. 19-21/08/2011 Hindu Council of Africa - Annual General Meeting Mr. Dinesh Vaishnav Delegates from African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, and Mozambique) came to Dar Es Salaam for the first time to hold their Annual General Meeting. An Arts & Crafts Exhibition and a couple of dances & prayers by Hindu children from HCT member organizations entertained the delegates. Swami Vugyanandji from Vishwa Hindu Parishad attended the meetring and addressed Hindu youths of Dar Es Salaam.
 
1. 01/08/2011 NHC Rent Initiative Mr. Dinesh Vaishnav Rent hikes by NHC prompted HCT to undertake a survey to get NHC tenants opinions & suggestions. HCT jointly worked with other communities in Dar es salaam in pursuing this matter for the welfare of the Hindus residing in NHC houses. At the moment, the tenants have formed an association by the name of CHAWASHINYU - Chama Cha Wapangaji Wa Shirika La Nyumba La Taifa which is currently addressing this matter.
